MAPA 2024
MAPA, the great fair in Buenos Aires, concluded with the participation of 41 prominent art galleries from all over the country. More than 20,000 people visited the historic Pavilion 8 of La Rural in Buenos Aires, delighting in contemporary art in its many forms.
In its sixth edition, MAPA has established itself as a benchmark fair for contemporary art in the region. Directed by Agustín Montes de Oca, the project opens the calendar with a current, dynamic and independent proposal that highlights the diversity of the national art scene.
The sound installation ESCÚCHENME by Luciano Colman from the Sasha D gallery and the video performance “Aquatic Planet” by Ailin Bars from Everyone Evolution were presented. The fair invited visitors to enjoy a Mapping by Román Gomes on the façade, at dusk during the event with a DJ set by Metro from Ojo del Arte. MAPA together with LA CELIA also invited us to toast at sunset with a DJ set by IANNA + DIVINA GLITCH + PALAPA and special guests.
The RADAR PROGRAM is an initiative by MAPA led by Carolina Pampliega that seeks to connect national and regional galleries with different actors in the art market to promote dialogue, encounter and circulation of art. It had the support of brands such as La Celia Heritage Edition, Ojo del Arte, Royal Enfield, Eve Joyerías, Grupo A2, LED LITE Vision. Framed by the Led Sensory invocation project curated by Nora Schulman, the RADAR space shone and became the epicenter of encounters during the fair, consolidating MAPA as an unmissable event in the world of contemporary art.
This year, MAPA presented the EVE Jewelry & Watches award for the best gallery proposal for 2024 to Laura de San Martín with the ODA gallery, within the framework of the RADAR PROGRAM.
The Collecting Program represents a vital boost for Argentine and regional art. Collectors are not only driving forces behind the art scene, but also valuable patrons who support and encourage the development of emerging and established artists, says Julia Moreno, coordinator of the Collecting Program.
The sixth edition of MAPA can be continued by browsing and enjoying it from MAPA VIRTUAL, the app developed by @parramarketplace that brings together all the information about the fair in one place. Access the participating galleries and their works from the comfort of your cell phone at mapaferia.art!
